A blast from my past

WOW!

I was digging around the internet yesterday and uncovered an artifact that I had completely forgotten about. In my wanderings of the late 1980s and into the 1990s, I had a fascination with the internet. There was a period during which my brain was extremely fertile with new and complicated thoughts and ideas about ways I could tap into this great world-wide web experience.

I was a pioneer just like everyone else who was playing in that same sand box. None of us really knew what we were all co-creating . . . and I really believe that the construction of the internet as we know it today is a product of perhaps the most complex dynamic adaptive system (Other than the natural world) in existence . . . and it was all organized by people who had passion and took responsibility and DOVE in with reckless abandon.

During this time, I was very involved in the growth of the presence of Open Space Technology and had a great vision that OST would have a good, solid internet presence. I created a free website on Geocities.com . . . and for a short time, this site was the "official" internet presence for OST. For sure, I was relatively clueless @ Website construction. I spent countless hours building that site.

Here is that artifact http://www.geocities.com/barryo.geo/

Since then, The Open Space Institute has created a MUCH more functional website @

http://www.openspaceworld.org/

Nowadays, I am into Open Space Consulting, Real estate Consulting and sales, office Brokerage and a bit less into website development other than to "manage" my web presence. This has resulted in my own little web village which includes 2 blogsites, presence in several web communities (MySpace, Linkedin, Facebook, Plaxo, Activerain) . . . For sure, web presence seems to be the buzz and keeps me in touch with people all over the world.

So . . .

When I unearthed that relic @ www.geocities.com/barryo/geo I remembered that right about the time I forgot about that site I had thought that it would make a good "Portal" to all of my sites . . . An easy place to go to find everything else . . . and so it now IS that.

Anyhow, I imagine my worldwide web experience has only just begun . . .

I invite you to explore this portal and get a taste of Internet ancient history :-)

Best,

b
